Our History
In 2008, Affordable Warmth Solutions was established as a Community Interest Company with the mission of providing free or discounted gas connections and new heating systems to vulnerable households. This initiative was launched in partnership with National Grid to effectively address fuel poverty. Over the years, we have delivered significant impact and are now expanding our mission to address climate change through renewable energy heating and other sustainable measures. Fuel poverty still affects millions of families, and AWS remains dedicated to making a positive difference. In our second decade, and with continued support from National Grid, we can reach and support even more households.
Over 17 years, Affordable Warmth Solutions has supported the delivery of more than £1 billion in funding, helping to make 229,178 homes warmer, more comfortable, and more energy efficient for some of the UK’s most vulnerable households.
The Connected for Warmth project supported 9000 homes across Great Britain with each home being upgraded with cavity wall, loft insulation, and smaller energy saving measures to bring about a cost-effective reduction in consumer’s bills.
