Warm Homes Fund update
 
National Grid and Community Interest Company Affordable Warmth Solutions have announced that round 2 bids in the £150 million Warm Homes Fund are open from Monday 27 November 2017. 
 
The Warm Homes Fund will provide capital funding for the installation of affordable heating solutions in fuel poor households who do not use mains gas as their primary heating fuel.
 
It has been established by National Grid to help supplement traditional funding streams and is open to bids from local authorities and housing associations in England, Scotland and Wales.
 
The fund is broadly split into three categories focusing on urban, rural and health-related solutions.
 
 
Round 2 bids launch
 
Round 2 will open to applications on Monday 27 November 2017 and close on Friday 9 February 2018.
 
We would encourage all applicants to consider the general feedback provided for round 1 and to consider the updated bid documentation and frequently asked questions for round 2 which will be available ahead of the round 2 launch.
 
Following feedback from round 1, the application form has been updated to a Word document format.
 
In an attempt to improve the quality and ambition of category 3 bids we are setting out a requirement for an expression of interest to be submitted ahead of a full bid.
 
We will provide feedback on those expressions of interest and guidance as to whether a formal bid should be considered.
 
Expressions of interest for category 3 will close on Friday 5 January to allow time for feedback to be given.

Round 3 bids launch
 
Bids will open for round 3 of funding on Monday 3 December 2018 and will close on Friday 8 February 2019.

Regional events
 
We are holding a series of regional events in November/December to enable local authorities and registered social landlords interested in applying to learn more about what we’re looking for in applications to the fund.
 
Those attending are invited to submit questions before the event which we will endeavour to answer during the event. Questions can be submitted in advance via email to whf@ngrid-aws.org.uk
 
Due to the limited places available for these events please do get in touch if you are unable to attend so a place can be given to those on the reserve list.
